Run I-9 and E-Verify in Workable
NEW: I-9 and E-Verify workflow in Workable
Verify employee work eligibility in a compliant, simple way. No more downloading PDFs, duplicate data entry, and jumping between multiple tools. With our new I-9 and E-Verify workflow, employees can complete Section 1 of the I-9 form digitally, while HR teams review their documents, and complete Section 2, all from Workable. If they have opted to use e-verification, it will be submitted automatically during the process. Meet federal requirements with ease.

- Complete I-9s digitally as part of onboarding
- Employees fill out Section 1 of the I-9 form in a guided, mobile-friendly workflow (with prefilled info where available)
- HR teams review documents and complete Section 2 within the required timeframe

How it works
We’ve designed the I-9 + E-Verify experience to be seamless and structured — embedded into your existing onboarding setup.
Here’s how it works:
- Contact our team to enable the relevant integration in Workable
- Add an I-9 task to your onboarding workflow (with the option to include E-Verify)
- Enable employees to complete Section 1 digitally
- They get guided steps, prefilled details, and simple document uploads
- HR admins review documents and complete Section 2
- Track status and store documentation in Workable
- Keep onboarding moving with clear task progress and completed records
Why this matters for U.S. organizations
- Meet federal timelines with no stress
- Employers must complete and sign Section 2 within 3 business days of the employee’s first day of work. Workable makes it easy.

- Support E-Verify where required (and where teams prefer it)
- E-Verify compares I-9 information against DHS/SSA records and is required for some employers (including many federal contractors), while others participate voluntarily or due to local/state requirements.

- Build i-9 verification into the onboarding workflows you already use
- Add I-9 tasks (with or without using E-Verify) in your onboarding workflows, track progress, and store completed forms right there in the employee profile.
