Start it on a job, and it asks questions to build a structured brief, just like an intake call with an experienced, senior recruiter. Then it sources, screens, engages, and validates candidates – and delivers a scored shortlist ready for interviews. Think of it like an agency-level recruiter that works around the clock, never drops context, and shows its reasoning for every decision.

A better foundation for every Workable customer

Before we talk about what the full Agent add-on does, there’s an important improvement rolling out to every Workable Recruiting account at no extra cost.

When you create a new job, you now have the option to use the job-brief aspect of the Workable Agent. It’s a guided conversation that helps you define your ideal candidate profile before anything else happens. Instead of jumping straight to a job description, the Agent asks about the role: responsibilities, required certifications, availability, travel requirements, and more. From that conversation, it builds a structured profile with matching categories like experience level, tools and technologies, certifications, languages, domain knowledge, and others.

You decide what’s a must-have, what’s a nice-to-have, and what’s a disqualifier. The Agent then generates the job description and application form based on those definitions.

Here’s why this matters: the screening assistant that’s included in all plans now evaluates candidates against criteria you’ve deliberately defined, rather than criteria that are auto-generated from the job description. This is a huge deal. Better input means more accurate screening for every job, on every Recruiting plan.

What the full Workable Agent adds

The Workable Agent add-on takes that foundation and builds an autonomous recruiting workflow on top of it. It’s made up of four specialized agents that pass context to each other:

1. Job brief creation

The conversational setup that’s included on all Recruiting plans. The Agent asks the right questions to define what “good” looks like for the role, and produces a structured ideal candidate profile that drives everything downstream.

2. Advanced, automated screening

Every candidate – whether they applied or were sourced – is evaluated against your ideal profile and scored out of 100. Each matching criterion gets a clear status: met, partially met, not met, disqualifying, or unknown. Every score comes with a written explanation.

The free screening assistant on all Recruiting plans evaluates candidates across 7 matching categories. The Workable Agent add-on expands that to 14 – adding criteria like physical requirements, legal requirements (such as work authorization), geographic location, shift and weekend availability, compensation expectations, and equipment needs. For roles with specific operational requirements, this is a major step up.

Strong candidates auto-advance. Poor fits get auto-disqualified with a reason attached. When something needs a human judgment call, the Agent hands over with full context.

3. Instant sourcing

The Agent searches 400M+ profiles to find passive candidates who match your ideal profile. It doesn’t run once and stop – it keeps sourcing in the background, continuously adding new matches. Every sourced candidate has already been pre-screened before they appear in the pipeline.

4. Candidate engagement

The Agent sends personalized outreach (which our data shows gets double the response rate of bulk templates), then invites candidates into a real chat conversation. It verifies interest, gathers missing information, answers candidate questions, and classifies their response. For applicants with incomplete profiles, it reaches out to fill gaps so their screening score can be updated.

By the time a candidate hits the shortlist, they’ve been sourced, evaluated, contacted, and validated. Your team picks up when there’s a real conversation to have.

Pricing is flat by company size, not usage-based, so there are no surprises as hiring volumes change.
