Fine-tune your Agent’s ideal candidate profile and keep your whole pipeline in sync.

The Workable Agent now lets hiring teams edit the ideal candidate profile (ICP) at any point, and can re-evaluate every candidate against it, so your pipeline always reflects what you’re actually looking for.
Hiring requirements rarely stay fixed. Halfway through a search, you realize three years of experience should really be one. A skill you thought was essential turns out to be trainable. A new requirement lands from the hiring manager. Until now, if the Ideal Candidate Profile the Workable Agent built for your job didn’t quite match reality, your options were limited. You could re-weight criteria, but you couldn’t change them.
That mattered, because the ICP drives everything the Agent does: which candidates it sources, how it scores them, and when it advances or disqualifies them. If the profile drifts from what you actually need, you end up second-guessing the Agent’s calls and reviewing everyone manually, which is exactly the work the Agent is meant to take off your plate.
What’s changing
Currently, Workable lets you adjust ICP settings, marking criteria as must-have or nice-to-have and setting disqualifiers.
Now you can also:
- Edit the text of any criterion the Agent generated
- Add entirely new criteria of your own
- Remove criteria that don’t fit the role
- Have existing candidates re-evaluated against the updated profile
How it works

Open the ICP from your job and make your changes in the same canvas you used to create it. When you save, the Agent assesses your edits. A meaningful change, like lowering an experience requirement or adding a new skill, creates a new version of the ICP, so there’s always a clear record of what candidates were measured against.
Then the important part: the Agent doesn’t just apply the new profile to future candidates. It can re-score everyone already in your pipeline, including candidates it has finished processing, and can refresh auto-advance and auto-disqualify decisions to match. While the evaluation runs, affected candidates are marked as under review. Once it’s done, each one gets an agent comment explaining the outcome. No silent changes, and no split standard between old and new candidates.
Why it matters
AI-driven hiring only works if you trust the decisions, and trust comes from control and consistency. With editable ICPs, the Agent’s judgment is always your judgment, expressed in your criteria. And because every edit propagates across the full pipeline, a candidate sourced on day one is held to the same standard as one sourced today.
Editing the ideal candidate profile is available now for jobs managed by the Workable Agent.
