We had a conversation with Mark Seemann, Founder and CEO of StaffCircle, about their integration with Workable, the latest trends in performance management, and their newest product release, which harnesses the power of AI to enhance talent management.

1. Hi Mark! Welcome to this edition of Workable’s Partner Profile. Could you introduce yourself with a brief bio?

HI, Im Mark, Founder and CEO of Staffcircle. I have 25 years of experience in building and scaling next-generation SaaS products and businesses for HR, Sales, and Ops. having successfully created and exited 3 previous SaaS businesses.

I am now leading StaffCircle, the industry-leading employee development and performance platform that transforms employee retention, engagement and effectiveness for distributed, hybrid and remote teams for SME and Mid-Market Organizations.

If you think about the reasons for unwanted employee attrition, the top 3 are usually:-

  1. Lack of development (or perceived development)
  2. Bad culture or poor manager practices
  3. Lack of visibility into the company’s vision or strategy and how my work is impacting it. Money can also be a factor but the first 3 items are pretty consistent reasons in exit interviews.

Historically, achieving all this has been very hard for small and medium-sized organizations with only a few HR or L&D people but advancements in AI technology has changed all that and now our customers are taking advantage.

2. What are some general trends you all are noticing in the performance management world?

We are seeing a number or changes in talent management strategies across the globe.

The two biggest is moving to a Skills-based economy and the integration of Learning with Performance in order to truly understand the impact of skills acquisition on the organizational outcomes.

Organizations moving to a skills-based architecture have material advantages because they have the systems in place to progress employees through career pathways using an underlying Competency Framework – built specifically for their organization.

Small and medium-sized organizations now want these same capabilities afforded to larger enterprises, but the complexity in maintaining a competency framework and associated data was prohibitive.

Now with tools like StaffCircleAI has become the great leveler and for the first time, small and medium organizations can create and operate this capabilities with a low amount of effort.
