1. Welcome to this edition of Workable’s Partner Profile. Could you introduce yourself with a brief bio? 

Hello! My name is Kim Gross, and I manage the Workable partnership at Indeed.

As part of the Partner Management team at Indeed, I oversee relationships with ATS partners to set shared goals and achieve the best outcomes for employers and job seekers. Currently, Indeed is proud to collaborate with over 300 diverse partners.

I have been with Indeed’s Partner Management Team for two and a half years. I joined Indeed to expand my knowledge in technology and recruiting, inspired by the company’s mission: We help people get jobs.

My background is in business development and marketing within the consumer products sector, working with various brands. These experiences have equipped me to enhance our partnerships by employing creative tactics to drive education and efficiency.

3. What are some general hiring trends you all are noticing? 

Some general hiring trends we are witnessing at Indeed include:

  • Labor shortages are disrupting the workforce. While hiring has slowed down, Indeed’s economists positively view the current state of hiring and see it as sustainable for the market. Sustainability is primarily fueled by high productivity, which supports expansion and handling more critical business tasks. This could result in increased wages for those significantly impacted by GenAI.3

  • Wage growth has outpaced inflation. Indeed’s 2024 US Jobs and Hiring Trends Report highlights the current labor market’s robust growth and resilience, with a notable increase in job availability and a reduction in the unemployment rate to 3.8%, indicating a thriving market. Despite a moderation in wage growth, the report suggests this trend is likely to ease inflation concerns without negatively impacting the overall positive outlook for wage earners. Importantly, wage growth continues to outpace inflation, suggesting an improvement in workers’ economic well-being and purchasing power. This scenario is particularly advantageous for job seekers, signaling enhanced economic stability and well-being.

  • The marketplace continues to see barriers to hiring. With a tightening labor market, Indeed is actively working to transform the hiring ecosystem by promoting a skills-first hiring approach. This involves not only enhancing the platform to better serve job seekers with diverse backgrounds and experiences but also engaging with employers to recognize the value of skills-based hiring. Through these efforts, Indeed aims to make the job market more accessible, fair, and efficient for millions of job seekers facing barriers to employment.

Additionally, for nearly 20 years, Indeed has utilized AI to improve hiring, achieving a job match every 3 seconds. AI streamlines Indeed’s operations, benefiting both job seekers and employers. Indeed is committed to continuing advancements with AI use to simplify hiring.4

4. Now is your chance to brag about what’s on the horizon for Indeed. Any exciting product developments our readers should be aware of? 

As we look forward, Indeed’s single-minded focus is on simplifying the hiring process to make  hiring easier and faster. This requires enhancements to our current technologies and the introduction of new products and services.

Indeed is engaging more deeply with ATS partners like Workable to enhance our Indeed Apply process – ensuring our screening process is thorough and complete. We now offer EEO tracking and knockout questions.

We have optimized the exchange of disposition signals and the use of quality signals by employers to maximize candidate matching and help move job seekers out of the infamous hiring “black hole.” Indeed now recognizes, with a special badge on their jobs, employers who utilize quality status codes for more than 50% of their Indeed Apply applications. 

To help simplify the hiring process Indeed offers an integration (Candidate Sync) that will automatically transfer candidate information from Indeed to the Workable applicant tracking system.

Soon, Workable users will be able to transfer candidates from Indeed’s new Smart Sourcing product to Workable. Indeed’s Smart Sourcing uses advanced matching technology and AI to help expedite the talent-sourcing process without losing the personal touch candidates want. 

Indeed introduced an online storefront, Integrations Hub, within the Indeed 

Employer dashboard that enables employers to discover, activate, and manage their Workable ATS integrations with Indeed. This is a glimpse of what’s on the horizon at Indeed.
