How to find Product Managers with Boolean search strings

To hire Product Managers, use Boolean search on Google to enhance your pipeline with qualified candidates. Modify our sample search strings based on your requirements.

1

Find Product managers

Our most basic Boolean search string:

  • Searches for resumes in page titles and page urls using the intitle: and inurl: operators. You can also include words commonly found in resumes like “work experience.”
  • Excludes false positives using the NOT (-) operator. For example, if you often get results that include sample resumes or templates, exclude the words “sample” and “template.”

Here’s an example of a simple string that you can further modify:

(intitle:resume OR inurl:resume) “product manager” -job -jobs -sample -templates -example

2

Find profiles and portfolios of Product Managers

If you want to hire Product Managers who have an engineering background, look through platforms like GitHub. Generic sites like Quora and Meetup can also be useful. Include the site: operator and terms found exclusively on member profiles. For example:

  • site:github.com “product manager” “contribution activity”
  • site:quora.com “product manager” “credentials & highlights”

Add more criteria in your search (e.g. cities) to find profiles that better match your requirements.

When sourcing EU candidates, please refer to guidance on using social media for recruiting and collecting candidate information as per the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR.
