How to find Designers with Boolean search strings

When searching for Designer resumes and profiles on Google, use Boolean logic to target your searches. Our Boolean search examples provide a basis to build your own search strings. Modify them with your criteria to hire a Web or Graphic Designer who has the skills and experience you need.

1

Generic search string to find a Designer

Build a generic search string around terms like:

  • -job -jobs -sample -examples, to exclude irrelevant results
  • (intitle:resume OR intitle:cv) to discover candidates’ online resumes or CVs
  • (“UI designer” OR “user interface designer”) to cover variations of the same job title

Here’s an example of a Boolean search string for designers’ resumes:

(intitle:resume OR intitle:cv) (“UI designer” OR “user interface designer”) -job -jobs -sample -templates

With this search string, the words “resume” or “CV” have to appear in the page title. Adding variations of designer job roles provides a larger number of relevant results. And, excluding more terms will reduce false positives.

2

Looking for Designer profiles and portfolios

Search for candidates on specific social networks using Boolean strings for designers by including the site: operator and terms found exclusively on member profiles. For example:

  • site:behance.net “graphic designer” “project views” chicago
  • site:dribbble.com “web designer” “shots” -jobs
  • site:meetup.com “ui designer” “member since”

Add more criteria in your search to find profiles that better match your requirements.

When sourcing EU candidates, please refer to guidance on using social media for recruiting and collecting candidate information as per the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR.
