The resultant value needs to be multiplied by 100 and the value you get is the compa ratio. For example, if an individual earns the amount ‘A’ per year and the median salary in the industry is ‘B’, the formula is:

A/B x 100 = Compa Ratio

For example, 

If an employee’s salary is $70000 and the market value is $80000, here’s the compa ratio

$70000/$80000 = 0.875

0.875 x 100 = 87.5%
